Meet Jay Markiewicz.
In 2007, Jay Markiewicz discovered two passions: running and coaching.
In the course of a year he went from his first out-of-breath ten-minute jog to running his first marathon. Experiencing the power of alignment, he pursues athletics with the ever-present fire that pushes him to be his best self and sparks greatness within others.
In founding and leading the organization Inner Competitor, Jay, along with his team of partners and board members, enthusiastically brings to life for clients and organizations the tools, practices, and knowledge to drive change.
In addition to coaching credentials from the Georgetown Leadership Coaching program, Jay has an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at University of South Carolina and is accredited as an ACC Leadership Coach, awarded by the International Coach Federation; an Endurance Running Coach, awarded by the Road Runners Club of America; and a Youth Athletic Coach. Jay’s leadership experience and interest in human dynamics draws from his roles as a Navy Nuclear Power officer, a cross-functional leader at a Fortune 200 financial services organization, and most recently as an entrepreneur and small business owner.
Blending his passions, Jay experiences the thrill of competitive athletics as a nationally competing triathlete who has qualified for the Boston Marathon, completed an Ironman, as well as a 50-mile Ultra Trail Marathon. Most importantly, Jay is blessed with the love and joy that emerges from the gift of fatherhood.
